When is it?

14th and 15th May Arrive the evening of the 14th for a welcome BBQ meet up with your team and your Skipper and check out the boat you will be sailing the next day.

Can anyone take part?

The LIA Challenge cup is organised by and for the Lighting Industry, and you are welcome to bring colleagues and clients to this great networking event.
You don’t have to have any previous experience of sailing, as a Skipper and crew member will be provided for each boat.  You will get the opportunity to take the helm and be part of the team sailing the boat under the instruction of your Skipper who will be on hand at all times.

Will we be racing against other teams?

Yes, but it’s fun racing nothing too serious.

What sort of Yachts will we be using?

Sunsail have a fleet of identical Benteau F40’s, which we have reserved and are ideal for this event.

How many people do I need to fill a team?

Ideally you need 8 people in a team (this includes your skipper and crew member provided). So you can bring a maximum of 6.

What if I have more than 6 people interested?

Let us know. You could always have more than one boat.

What if I don’t have a full team?

If you don’t want to commit to fulfilling a whole boat or don’t have enough people then don’t worry.  Register your interest at the LIA website as there is likely to be others like yourself that would really like to take part and there will be teams that will need to fill a few spots.  But don’t delay as we need to secure a number of boats to make the event happen and individual spaces will be limited.
